Abstract

Bone tissue engineering strives to find methods to induce new bone regeneration to treat bone defects and bone diseases. Studies show that vascularization is essential for successful bone regeneration. In fact, several research papers demonstrated that implanting a bone scaffold with its own blood vessels improves the healing process in the host. In this presentation, I highlight the work of Dr. Eric Brey and his lab, which focuses on evaluating and observing vascularization in tissue formation.
